Think of the Grand Canyon and images of hiking, warm weather and desert creatures are sure to cross your mind. For Nik Wallenda, the only thing crossing his mind is, well, crossing the Grand Canyon on a tightrope.
On June 23, Nik Wallenda will attempt to walk across a section of the Grand Canyon 1,500 feet in the air—without a safety harness.
Set to air on the Discovery Channel, Wallenda is no stranger to danger seeing how he’s already walked across Niagara Falls among other famous attractions.
So who is this man…?
The man, the myth, the feet.
Wallenda is a seventh-generation member of The Flying Wallendas, a family of tight-rope walkers and has participated in circus acts since he was a child. Taking great pride in what he does, he is said to practice six hours a day, six days a week with ten hours of weight training and five hours of aerobic exercise mixed in.
Will you tune in and watch history unfold, one step at a time?
